With contributions from the community, we are able to provide more support for the purchase of new equipment at Prince of Wales Hospital.
Funding needs change from year to year, but donors can be assured that their gifts to Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation always go to areas where they are needed most.
2005 was a very successful year for The Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation. Through donations of money and gifts in kind the Foundation was able to provide the Hospital with:
- $140,000 NRMA Rehab & Spinal Bus for the Spinal Unit
- 2 vital sign monitors/printers/stands for Acute Care Services
- 1 Electric and 2 Manual Wheelchairs for Allied Health
- Special Mattresses for the Intensive Care Unit
- An advanced belly board and mattresses for Radiation Oncology
- A TV and DVD player for Neurological Sciences
- A patient lifter, pianola, CD player and knitted rugs and hats for the Aged Care Wards
- Furniture to fit out a patient/family liaison room for Cardiac Services
- A TV and DVD player for the Spinal Unit
- A BBQ for Surgical Ward
- The refurbishing of the staff education room for Respiratory and Infectious Diseases Wards
- $3000 TOW Awards Prize
- $1000 International Nurses Day Award
- $500 Nurses Symposium Award
The Foundation also provided Christmas presents to every patient who spent the holiday period in the hospital, as well as setting up and decorating Christmas trees in both foyers.
