Research

The Foundation realises that research is closely associated with increasing knowledge and therefore, education, not only for those involved at the interface in conducting research, but more importantly, for the recipients of results of that research.

It is for these reasons that we are committed to supporting developments and advances in the field of research in order to create greater understanding of the causes, prevention, treatment and control of diseases. The insight gained through research allows further health promotion initiatives to be developed which enhance and promote the positive results of that research.

The Foundation has recently commissioned the creation of a Clinical and Research Advisory Committee, which is designed to play a significant role in applying The Foundation's objectives. The Foundation will be involved in approving and overseeing the functions and activities of the Committee, and will have input at all levels of Committee functions, from identifying research that needs to be done, to managing the outcomes and progress of that research.

The Foundation also supports medical research programs such as the Cancer Survivorship Centre and the Cancer Fatigue Centre.

To extend your support to any of these programs, please see the "Donate" page, or contact The Foundation's Chief Executive Officer, Ms Leanne Zalapa on 9382 3671 or at leanne.zalapa@sesiahs.health.nsw.gov.au.
